U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Emergency Loan Program

On February 14, 2017, President Trump declared a major disaster due to the Severe Winter Storms, Flooding, and Mudslides that occurred January 3-12, 2017. As a result, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Emergency Loan Program has been made available for certain counties including Sierra County, for both physical and crop production losses. Assistance is being made available for emergency farm loans for both physical and crop production losses as a direct result of the disaster up to a maximum of $500,000.00. Farmers and ranchers who conduct family–sized farming operations who have losses caused by these storms may apply by contacting the local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office in Quincy 530-283-7511 or by email at dan.martynn@ca.usda.gov.  Application deadline is October 16, 2017.  For additional information please visit the USDA website at: https://www.fsa.usda.gov.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact USDA’s TARGET Center at 202-720-2600 (voice and TDD)
