Birth, Death and Marriage Records
The Clerk's office provides copies of birth and death certificates, if the event occurred in Sierra County. Copies of marriage certificates are available, if the license was issued in Sierra County.
Marriage certificates from 1852 to present
Birth certificates from 1857 to present
Death certificates from 1864 to present
Obtaining a Copy of a Certificate
To obtain certified copies of birth, death, or marriage certificates, please fill out the appropriate application, have it notarized, and mail the notarized copy to our office with your payment. Certified copies can also be obtained by completing a request in our office. The fees for certified copies are listed below, and this fee is nonrefundable. If a record is not found, a Certificate of No Record will be issued.
