Environmental Health
The Sierra County Department of Environmental Health is the local implementing agency for a diverse range of state and local laws affecting the public health of the citizens and visitors of Sierra County. The water you drink, the food you eat, businesses where you buy gasoline or have your automobiles serviced, and land that is developed are all within the scope of services provided by the department.

Environmental Health responds to code complaints which generally involve surfacing sewage, food facilities, hazardous materials, public pools and water systems, noise, and other un-permitted land use issues.

When filing a complaint, please be specific about the location or facility involved. If you do not know the address, please describe as accurately as possible where the violation exists (nearest cross road, across the street from, landmarks, etc.). We will make every effort to pursue the concerns you have presented, and will contact you, if we are in need of additional information. Your name and contact information will be kept confidential to the extent we are legally entitled to do so.
