Animal Bite
Due to budget restrictions in the City of Loyalton, the Sheriff's Office is unable to respond to non-emergency animal calls. All canine bites are reported to the Sheriff's Office and are followed up by the Public Health Department. Other species should be reported to Fish and Wildlife and Sierra County Public Health Office.

Child Abuse or Neglect
Community members have an important role in protecting children from abuse and neglect. If abuse is suspected, a report should be filed with qualified and experienced agencies that will investigate the situation.

Code Violation
For a building code violation, violation involve surfacing sewage, food facilities, hazardous materials, public pools and water systems, noise, and other unpermitted land use issues.

Crime
Please do not use email to report emergencies or time-sensitive issues that need prompt attention, due to the lag time that may occur.

Deed or Trust Deed
The county recorder maintains and provides public access to a permanent archive of recorded documents. The recorder is responsible for examination and recording of all documents presented to this office that deal with establishing ownership of land in the county or as required by law.

If you want to report elder abuse, contact Sierra County Social Services or abuse reports may also be made to your local law enforcement agency.
