California Children's Services (CCS)
A statewide program that provides specialized medical care and services for children and youth under 21 who have certain serious physical or chronic health conditions. The program helps families access diagnostic services, treatment, and medical case management from qualified specialists.

Family Planning
Confidential, no-cost reproductive health care for eligible individuals. Services include birth control, pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment, cancer screenings, and health education. Offered through the state's Family PACT program.

Health Care Program for Children in Foster Care (HCPCFC)
The Health Care Program for Children in Foster Care (HCPCFC) is a statewide program implemented locally by Sierra County Public Health. The program provides public health nursing case management for children and youth placed in foster care, with the goal of ensuring access to timely, coordinated, and comprehensive health care. The HCPCFC program helps safeguard the health and well-being of some of the county's most vulnerable children by acting as a bridge between the child welfare and health care systems.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
HPV is a common virus that can cause several types of cancer later in life. Vaccinating children at ages 11-12 with two doses of the HPV vaccine offers strong protection against these cancers.

Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health (MCAH)
Supports the health of pregnant and parenting individuals, infants, children, and adolescents in Sierra County through access to prenatal care, health education, and referrals to local and state resources that promote healthy families and positive outcomes across the lifespan.

Medical Marijuana
Is administered through a patient's county of residence. Upon obtaining a recommendation from their physician for use of medicinal marijuana, patients and their primary caregivers may apply for and be issued a Medical Marijuana Identification Card.
