2025 Regional Transportation Plan
Adopted September 24, 2025
Regional Transportation Plans (RTPs) guide our transportation investments for many modes of travel, including public transit, automobiles, trucks, trains, bicycles, pedestrians and to some extent airplanes. The Sierra County RTP will provide the framework for prioritizing transportation projects, identifying funding sources and scheduling future project implementation. This document has become increasingly important as funding resources constrict, planning efforts coordinate, and new programs expand.

2020 Regional Transportation Plan
The Sierra County Transportation Commission adopted the 2020 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) on February 5, 2020. The 2020 RTP and approved Initial Study and Negative Declaration are available for review at www.sierracounty.ca.gov or at the Sierra County Department of Transportation, 101 Courthouse Square, Downieville, California during business hours.
