Goals

of the Act



Specific goals of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) are for California’s public agencies to:
  • Identify the significant environmental effects of their actions.
  • Avoid those significant environmental effects, where feasible.
  • Mitigate those significant environmental effects, where feasible.
