Search & Rescue

Search and Rescue Team

The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) team is comprised of trained volunteers throughout Sierra County. The Search and Rescue team has the experience and equipment to help find you or your friends in the mountains, rivers, lakes, and snow that Sierra County has to offer. Sierra County is very rural and the Search and Rescue team trains year-round to aid the public in any conditions.

Please be advised, while traveling through Sierra County during the winter months, do not rely solely on GPS. Anyone passing through should remain on Highway 49 or Highway 89. Some roads to which a GPS may direct you might not be in a safe condition to drive.
